Choosing the correct ring size is essential, especially for wider bands and spinner rings. Wider rings cover a larger surface area, which means you may need to go up a few sizes larger than your usual size, but this isn’t always the case, which is why accurate measuring is so important.
The most accurate way to find your size
The best and most reliable method is to visit a local jeweller and try on a ring that is the same width as the one you plan to buy.
This gives you the closest, most accurate measurement.
Using a ring you already wear
If you have a ring that currently fits, you can send it to me, and I can measure it accurately and return it along with your new ring.
I can’t guess your ring size
Ring sizing is incredibly precise, we’re talking about differences of millimetres.
Because of this, I cannot estimate your size from:
- a photo
- your clothing size
- your height or build
- or a general description
There is simply no visual way to determine a ring size accurately.
What not to use
Online printable sizers and paper strips are never accurate, so I don’t recommend using them.
They almost always result in the wrong size.
Your responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide the correct ring size.
- Unpersonalised rings can be exchanged for another size.
- Commissions and personalised rings cannot be exchanged and will require a paid resize if the wrong size is provided.
Resizing limitations
Not all rings can be resized by me.
Whether a ring can be altered depends on:
- the presence of gemstones
- how those gemstones are set
- the design and structure of the band
Some designs simply cannot be resized safely without risking damage or significant cost.
Getting the correct size from the start may take a little longer, but it saves time, money, and heartache in the long run.
Resizing spinner rings
Spinner rings with gemstones can be resized:
- up to 1 size smaller
- up to 2 sizes larger
These will incur my standard resizing fee.
Anything outside these limits will need to be assessed individually and may require additional work or charges.
At‑home ring sizers
I do offer at‑home plastic ring sizers (the little belt‑style ones).
They’re helpful for getting a standard ring size, but they are not as accurate as trying on a ring of the same width at a jeweller, especially if you’re buying a wider band.
